We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team!  As a Data Engineer, you will perform the following duties, roles and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support Data Engineering Pipelines in Azure using PySpark & Azure Data Factory.
• Drive technical innovation and efficiency in Data Engineering Pipelines.
• Ensure data engineering pipeline platforms are efficient.
• Good experience with Databases (SQL and No-SQL Databases).
• Good understanding of Power BI.
• Communicate effectively and appropriately, deferring to management on communicating with external teams as needed.
• Attend departmental, project, and general meetings and effectively represent status as appropriate.
• Participate in company-provided training and perform independent training and research as appropriate.
• Assist in other production support efforts as needed.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation for providing after-hours support.
• Where possible, design and/or automate yourself out of any of the above duties.
• Have an appetite to work on different shifts.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or IT-related field.
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience with Azure, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse or Databricks.
• Good Experience in Python and PySpark.
• Good experience in SQL and PLSQL.
• Persistent desire to innovate, automate, and continually improve processes.
• Experience implementing Data Engineering Pipelines with efficiency.
• Capacity to take initiative; desire to become a self-starter.
• Willingness to find problems and come up with creative solutions.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills.
• Able to think and react positively and professionally when faced with obstacles.
• A strong willingness to learn and accept instruction.
• Able to think critically and exercise independent judgment and discretion.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Hands-on working knowledge and experience are required in:

• Good understanding on the Azure Storage, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse or Databricks, Python, PySpark etc.
• Good understanding in writing SQL and PLSQL
• Good understanding of Data Engineering approaches and implementation of Data Engineering tools will be a bonus.

Experience with several of the following tools/technologies is desirable:

• Azure certification is a bonus
• Knowledge on Other Programming Languages like Scala for building Data Pipelines will be desirable
