Description:

As a FullStack Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain clean, robust and scalable code to be used across Alveo’s product portfolio. This will involve creating/maintaining both React web apps, written using the Play Framework. Like everyone in our engineering team, you will approach your projects with curiosity and champion best practice.

Roles and responsibilities

As a FullStack Engineer at Alveo, no two days will be the same, but some of the things you can expect to do with your time include:

• Taking ownership for designing, estimating, implementing, testing and technically documenting of new features and components, ensuring compliance with Alveo standards and guidelines
• Collaborating with Product Managers, and the wider engineering team to deliver compelling user-facing products
• Ensuring that maintenance and bug fixing activities on production code are done in a most efficient and customer aware way
• Providing third-level product support

• Understanding of the full product development life cycle
• Proven experience as a professional software developer
• Knowledge of JavaScript programming language
• Knowledge of React and Redux
• Knowledge of Java/NodeJsprogramming language
• Experience working with object-oriented design and design patterns
• Knowledge of recent development technologies, languages and tools
• An interest in NoSQL (Cassandra) databases and Spark Working experience in an Agile development environment
• Ability to develop robust, efficient and maintainable code.
• Confidence working with a large established code base.
• Ability to express innovative ideas to improve products
• An analytical mindset
• A self-starting, solution-oriented approach to problem solving
• Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
• Ideally, a university degree
