 Software Test Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Software Automation Engineer. Primary responsibilities will include carrying out manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets requirements. The tester will often assume the role of an end user to test the applications and features ensuring correct behavior.

The tester will need to analyze, report and document bugs and errors to development teams. A successful candidate must be exploratory, agile, a quick learner, self-motivated and require little supervision. Adaptability and a willingness to jump in to help outside of your normal role is a requirement. The position will also require excellent communication with developers, the operations team, management and product owners. The candidate should be well-written, organized, and comfortable speaking with others and communicating with a team. A very high attention to detail is essential to be successful in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers and product owner to develop strategies and plans
• Configure, use, and manage test environments and test data
• Create and execute test plans
• Participate in Planning/Release of sprints
• Report bugs and errors to sprint teams
• Troubleshoot issues and identify pathways to replicate problems observed by end users
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality
• Validate product fixes
• Review and analyze system specifications

 Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field
• 3+ years of experience working in scrum teams that develop browser-based software solutions
• Good communication skills necessary to manage business requests and work with different teams across different geographies and time-zones; experience working with remote and distributed teams will be an added advantage. Needs excellent English verbal and writing skills to efficiently create and communicate development requests.
• Hands-on working knowledge and experience is required in:

1. 1. Extensive experience working on Testing and Testing Methodologies
   2. Experience developing in Testing Tools and in writing Test Cases
   3. Agile Methodologies (Scrum, TDD, BDD, etc.)
   4. Hands on working experience with Java (Python programming would be good to have)
   5. Hands on working experience with Selenium and/or other equivalent frameworks
   6. Hands on working experience with relational databases
   7. Experience working with distributed teams across regions and time zones
   8. Proficient with many types of software, browsers and operating systems
   9. Strong organizational skills
   10. Display detailed, critical, quality-oriented, skeptical thinking about the product

• Experience with several of the following tools/technologies is desirable:

1. 1. GIT/Bit Bucket, Jira, Jenkins, SharePoint, Visual Studio Code.
   2. Understanding and experience working on Microservices Architecture, Data Analytics and Data Engineering is a plus
   3. Experience and Demonstrate experience in reviewing Logs and identifying the problems is a plus
