Location: Bengaluru, India (Hybrid) 

Role Overview

STG Labs is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer in Bengaluru to design and operate modern microservices platforms on AWS or Azure, with Kubernetes, Infrastructure‑as‑Code and GitOps at the core. This is a hands‑on role focused on technical delivery, customer outcomes and engineering excellence rather than people management. In your first 90 days you will onboard, deliver a quick win such as a pipeline, service deployment or migration, and establish credibility with customers. By 180 days you will lead a successful migration or go‑live and be recognised as a trusted authority in microservices delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Microservices Platform & Kubernetes

• Design, build and operate microservices platforms: on AWS or Azure using Kubernetes
  (EKS/AKS).
• Migrate and scale services: move them onto microservices‑based platforms with resilience and observability in mind.
• Automation, CI/CD & GitOps
• Automate provisioning, deployments and pipelines: using Terraform, Helm and CI/CD tools.
• Implement GitOps workflows: with tools such as Argo CD or Flux to ensure automation and consistency.

Customer Delivery & Technical Leadership

• Lead technical delivery for customer projects: from discovery through to production go‑live.
• Produce documentation and reusable assets: high‑quality documentation, runbooks and reusable modules that accelerate delivery.
• Act as a senior technical authority: raise engineering standards and mentor by example.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Must‑Have (Hands‑on)

• Proven expertise in microservices design, deployment and operations.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes orchestration (EKS/AKS).
• Strong AWS or Azure cloud engineering background with Terraform/IaC.
• Linux administration and scripting (Bash/PowerShell; Python desirable).
• GitOps experience with Argo CD or Flux.
• CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Customer‑facing delivery experience, with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Track record of delivering service migrations and platform go‑lives into production.

Secondary Skills

• Helm chart authoring and Argo CD.
• Event‑driven microservices (Kafka).
• PostgreSQL in cloud environments.
• Advanced CI/CD pipeline design.
• Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (e.g. Backstage).
• Multi‑cloud exposure and/or Python development for tooling.

Education / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure Associate, CKA or similar).

Work Mode

Hybrid — This role adheres to the organization’s hybrid work policy, requiring presence at the office on three designated days per week.
