Role Overview

As a Test Engineer at STG labs, you will act as the human‑in‑the‑loop quality owner between AI‑generated testing, engineering output and the final product experience. You will use AI‑assisted testing and automation tools to rapidly generate, validate and maintain test coverage across multiple SAI360 solutions. You will work with development and product teams to understand requirements, assess risk and support high‑quality monthly solution releases.

Key Responsibilities

AI‑Assisted Test Design & Automation

• Accelerate testing with AI: use AI tools for test design, test data creation, regression coverage, defect analysis and automation maintenance.
• Maintain automated test assets: design, review and maintain automated test scripts and AI‑generated test assets so they reflect business logic and customer workflows.
• Automate repeatable scenarios: use tools such as Playwright, Cypress or comparable AI‑assisted automation frameworks.

Human‑in‑the‑Loop Quality Ownership

• Review AI outputs: actively review AI‑generated tests and automation results to confirm business logic, customer intent and release readiness.
• Define review checkpoints: set practical human review checkpoints so AI‑generated tests and results are validated before they influence release decisions.
• Catch what AI misses: focus on workflow gaps, edge cases and user‑impacting quality risks.

Testing & Defect Management

• Test across products: conduct functional, regression, integration, exploratory and risk‑based testing across multiple products and solutions.
• Manage defects to resolution: identify, document, prioritise and track defects until they are resolved.
• Keep documentation current: maintain clear, up‑to‑date test documentation, including AI‑assisted test coverage and known gaps.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Embed quality in agile teams: work with developers and product managers so quality is built into the development lifecycle.
• Improve QA practices: take part in code reviews, automation reviews and continuous improvement, with a focus on speed, coverage, reliability and responsible AI use.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Must‑Have (Hands‑on)

• 2+ years of experience in QA, quality engineering or test automation for web‑based software products.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or comparable frameworks.
• Practical experience using AI tools to improve productivity, such as generating test ideas, drafting automation, analysing failures, creating data sets or summarising defects.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles, preferably Agile/Scrum, CI/CD and release quality practices.
• Ability to evaluate AI‑generated outputs critically and identify missing scenarios, weak assumptions, false confidence or gaps in business logic.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity and willingness to experiment with new AI‑assisted QA approaches.
• Ability and willingness to learn new tools, techniques and product domains quickly while supporting multiple solutions in parallel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, able to explain quality risks, AI‑generated findings and release recommendations clearly.
• Highly detail‑oriented and organised, able to manage multiple testing streams and shifting priorities.
• A collaborative, proactive team player with strong ownership and sound judgment when balancing speed, coverage and risk.

Education / Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Work Mode

Hybrid — This role adheres to the organization’s hybrid work policy, requiring presence at the office on three designated days per week.
